Client interventions typically include the following steps:
1. Initial assessment and project agreement
Collaboratively we assess the situation and identify areas for
improvement. We define criteria for success and measurable goals for the
consulting project. The roles of everybody involved are clarified.
A letter of agreement will include the process and conditions agreed
upon.
2. Extended assessment and defining goals
A better understanding of the situation and underlying problems can be
reached in conversations and other data-gathering methods. The better we
understand the situation the more specific measures can be developed. In
order to get wide support for a project it is important to include those
employees that are affected by the change early in the process. Based on
this extended scan we will collaboratively define the goals of the
project.
3. Developing action plans
We engage manager and employees in generating solutions, which meet the
goals of the project. This creative phase will result in action plans.
These plans define who is going to do what and set deadlines.
4. Implementation
We support our clients throughout the implementation phase. We work and
agree on an appropriate structure to implement the action plans. In a
step-by-step process we continually monitor the success of the
implementation so that fine-tuning could be done if needed.
5. Evaluation
At the end of the consulting project we evaluate the success of the
process. Have we met the goals defined in the extended assessment phase?
Together with our client we discuss our learning experiences in the
project.
